Creating a Data-Driven Culture

The goal of Creating a Data-Driven Culture is to deepen your understanding of the importance of a culture of data-driven decision making and its role in improving student achievement.

About This Course

During this module you will begin to develop a vision for a data-informed culture within your school. You will be provided with a process for creating and refining a school-wide data team, and a framework for thinking about change and the need to address the challenges inherent in any effort to shift a school’s culture. Finally, you will begin to draft a communication plan so you can effectively communicate about the changes being implemented with all key stakeholders in the school community.

About the Data-Driven Leadership Series

This module is the first of three in the Data-Driven Leadership series, designed to help school leaders grow their leadership skills to support their staff around effective data use and improve student outcomes. This module establishes the foundation for the administrator’s work in this area. The second provides strategies and protocols to analyze data and to think through potential root causes for why students are struggling. The third focuses on how to use the results of the data analysis to identify measurable goals, create plans to improve instruction, and monitor progress.
