PARA311 will provide paraprofessionals with knowledge about classroom and behavior management. This course addresses a range resources and information to give paraprofessionals an understanding that will equip them to be more effective partners with teachers and to provide essential support to students.

About This Course

“Para” means “along-side”. The role of the paraprofessional is to work alongside a certified teacher to provide assistance and instructional support in the classroom.

Paraprofessoinals, also referred to as teacher’s aides or teacher’s assistants, are an integral part of a school’s instructional team. There are many ways the lead teacher can utilize the paraprofessional in the classroom, including classroom management, instructional support, record keeping, preparation of materials, and assist with communication to families.

This course will provide paraprofessionals with knowledge and tools that will allow them to assist both teachers and students in the classroom.
