Sarah Shanahan, Education & Training Manager, Media Power Youth
Sarah has been working as a violence prevention and media literacy educator for over fifteen years. Through her work at HAVEN and Media Power Youth she has delivered media literacy and violence prevention programs to over 100,000 students and parents. As coordinator for the Governor’s violence prevention through media literacy initiative, she has also trained hundreds of NH educators in implementing media literacy in the classroom. Sarah has a BFA in Theatre Studies from Emerson College in Boston, a Master of Arts in Teaching from UNH, and is an ASTD Certified Trainer. She is also the winner of the 2011 National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s Visionary Voice Award for Violence Prevention and the 2009 NH Children’s Trust Unsung Hero Award.
Michael Weinraub, Blended Learning Specialist, Public Consulting Group
Prior to joining PCG, Michael was the Director of Innovative Professional Development for the New York City Department of Education where he led the implementation of several large-scale online learning initiatives throughout the district. He began his career teaching in Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grade bilingual classrooms in Los Angeles Unified School District and was a Literacy Consultant and New York City Program Director with Teach For America. As a faculty member at the Pace University School of Education in New York City, Michael taught over a thousand beginning teachers using facilitated online and blended learning models.
