Assistive technology and accessible materials expand pathways for learning and growth in students with disabilities. After taking this Assistive Technology and Accessible Materials course, you will be able to define AT and describe how it can support students identified with disabilities. In addition, you will be able to identify different types of assistive technology and how they improve student outcomes. You will also be able to identify members of the Assistive Technology Team, who are responsible for the evaluation, implementation, and continued support of students using AT, in order to increase access to the general education curriculum. Finally, this course will help you understand the role of a paraprofessional in the implementation of AT for students identified with a disability.
